One person was injured Friday night when a vehicle left the westbound lanes of Iowa Highway 141 and nearly entered the retention pond on the northeast side of the U.S. Highway 169  interchange.

One person was injured Friday night when a vehicle left the westbound lanes of Iowa Highway 141 and nearly entered the retention pond on the northeast side of the U.S. Highway 169  interchange.

The crash occurred about 10:30 p.m. in 23000 block of 141st Street, where the vehicle came to rest poised on the edge of a ravine.

Emergency responders had first to secure the vehicle from tipping over before attending to the injured.

The extent of the victim’s injuries is unknown at this hour as are the circumstances leading to the mishap.

The Perry Police Department, Dallas County Sheriff’s office, Bouton First Responders, Bouton Volunteer Fire Department and Dallas County EMS responded.
