OSKALOOSA, Iowa — An Oskaloosa couple was arrested Thursday on multiple counts of sexual assault, the outcome of an ongoing investigation that began in September 2021, according to a statement issued by the Oskaloosa Police Department and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI).
Dustin John Flaherty, 41, of 469 N. Ninth St., Oskaloosa, was charged with conspiracy to commit sexual abuse, third-degree sexual abuse and two counts of second-degree sexual abuse.
Sara Ann Flaherty, 40, of 469 N. Ninth St., Oskaloosa, was charged with conspiracy to commit sexual abuse, third-degree sexual abuse, two counts of second-degree sexual abuse and two counts of drug distribution to a person under the age of 18.
The arrests came as part of a joint investigation into the Flahertys’ alleged assault of a 17-year-old female at a party in their home.
Dustin Flaherty and Sara Flaherty are held in the Mahaska County Jail in advance of an initial appearance in Mahaska County District Court.
