Out-of-town couple arrested early Monday in Perry

Jerrad Michael Runge, left, of 1411 Fourth St. in Des Moines, and Rona Renee Cross, of 2902 Hancock St., #83, Bellevue, Neb., were arrested early Monday in a routine traffic stop by the Perry Police Department.

A traffic stop in the 1900 block of Otley Avenue in Perry about 2:30 a.m. Monday led to the arrest of a Des Moines man and a Nebraska women on a variety of charges.

Jerrad Michael Runge, 38, of 1411 Fourth St. in Des Moines was arrested on a Dallas County warrant for a violation of probation on an original charge of driving while barred.

Runge was also arrested on Perry Police Department charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine, driving while suspended, driving without insurance, probation violation-driving while suspended and driving while barred.

A passenger with Runge, Rona Renee Cross, 49, of 2902 Hancock St., #83, Bellevue, Neb., was arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of fifth-degree theft-possession of stolen property.

Rundge is being held in custody in the Dallas County Jail on $2,500 bond. Cross was booked by the Perry Police Department and released pending trial.

Additional charges might be filed pending the conclusion of the investigation, according to the Perry Police Department.
