Pair of Panorama players, head coach earn IGCA honors

PANORA — Senior Devyn Kemble, junior Bailey Beckman and head coach Dan Druivenga were recently recognized for their efforts this season with All-District honors by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association.

Kemble averaged 13.9 points and five rebounds per game this season. She hit 51-of-131 (38.9 percent) 3-pointers and 52-of-73 free throws (71.2 percent) while making 50 assists, coming away with 69 steals and blocking nine shots.

She finishes her career with 1,047 points, 403 rebounds, 202 assists and 254 career thefts.

Point guard Beckman ended her junior year with 1,108 career points, 289 rebounds, 136 assists and 209 steals. She is a blistering 292-of-371 (79 percent) at the foul line in three seasons.Beckman averaged 17.9 points per game this season while pouring in 443 points. She buried 45-of-132 3-pointers (34 percent) and connected on 98-of-115 (85.2 percent) of her free throws. Beckman finished with 83 rebounds, 42 assists and 79 steals.

Druivenga led his fifth team to the state tournament by guiding the Panthers to a 23-2 overall record. They were eliminated in a 47-46 heartbreaker in the Class 2A Quarterfinals.

He was named the Central District Coach of the Year, with Kemble and Beckman named to the All-District team.
