PANORA — Visiting Shenandoah rallied form a five-point halftime deficit to knock off Panorama, 68-50, in non-conference boys basketball Saturday, one day after host AC/GC recorded a 47-43 win over the Panthers in their West Central Conference tilt.

Saturday’s loss was the fourth straight for Panorama, who fell to 5-10 overall, while Shenandoah moved to 5-10 with the victory. The Panthers trailed, 19-15, after one quarter but surged to a 31-26 lead at the intermission.

The Mustangs used an 18-9 run in the third frame to change the momentum of the contest and take a 44-40 lead into the fourth quarter. The guests remained hot in the fourth period, using a 24-10 string to record the 18-point win.

Gracen Welberg led the Panthers with 13 points while grabbing four rebounds. Michael Allen had 11 points, seven rebounds and two blocks, with Luke South adding 10 points and four rebounds. Jeramy Randol tallied seven points, Will Babcock five and Trey Cobb and Kolby Shackelford two points apiece.

Steven Martin played well for the Mustangs, pouring in 21 points and clearing 12 boards while making three assists and blocking three shots. Josh Lehman had 14 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals, with Jordan Miller and Kyle Cerven providing 11 points apiece to help fuel the victory.

Panorama fell to host AC/GC Friday when a furious fourth-quarter rally fell short.

The Chargers bolted to a 15-2 lead after eight minutes of play and held a 23-17 lead at the half. A 10-2 third quarter pushed the score to 33-19 before the Panthers rallied once the fourth quarter began. A 24-14 edge brought the guests to within four points, at 47-43, but was not enough to overcome the combined 25-4 deficit of the first and third quarters.

Welberg had 13 points, three assists and two blocks for Panorama. South had 12 points, Randol 10 points and seven rebounds, Allen five points and Shackelford three points.

AC/GC received 15 points from Quenton Spock on three 3-pointers and 6-of-6 free throw shooting, with Colton Sargent adding 15 points. Bryce Littler had nine points, with two points apiece from Caden Wardyn, Quenton Younker, Collin Stowe and Noah Nelson closing the scoring for the hosts.

Panorama visits Van Meter Monday, hosts Madrid Tuesday and entertains Van Meter Friday to complete a busy slate in the upcoming week.
