PANORA — Another dominating performance from the Panther girls and a strong showing from the home standing boys squad highlighted Tuesday’s track action for Panorama at their own Kip Janvrin Invitational.

Panorama erupted for 218 points in the girls meet, more than double the points of second-place Madrid (108), with AC/GC third at 90. Greene County had 68 points to finish fourth, with Ogden (31), Woodward-Granger (24), Woodbine (23) and Glidden-Ralston (21) also in action.

AC/GC won the boys side with 133.5 points. Woodbine was second at 115, with Panorama edging Greene County, 101-99, for third place. Ogden (71.5), W-G (60) and G-R (8) completed the seven-team boys field.

The Panther girls excelled in the field events as well as on the track. Lydia Knapp and Claire Woodworth were 1-6 in the discus with spins of 133 feet, 8 inches and of 87 feet, with the duo 2-6 in the shot put at 35 feet, 8-1/2 inches and 33’5, respectively. Bailey Beckman flew 16’7 to win the long jump, with Morgan Johnk clearing 5’3 in claiming the high jump.

Senior Bailey Beckman won the 200 in 28.42 seconds, with Hope Arganbright fourth in 29.09. Bailey was first, and freshman sister Payton Beckman second, in the 400 on times of 1 minute, 4.08 seconds and 1:07.44, with Kassidy Bremer winning the 100 in 13.37 while Arganbright crossed fifth in 14 seconds flat.

Ella Waddle was second in the 800 (2:35.42), the 1500 (5:17.85) and the 3000 (11:11.25), with Brooklyn Behrends third in the 800 (2:48.05), Gwen Steffen third in the 1500 (5:34.7) and Leah Fett fifth in the 3000 (13:20.39).

Johnk won the 100 hurdles in 16.18 with Shey Storesund second in 17.67 with Lydia Lindstrom and Storesund 1-2 in the 400 hurdles in 1:13.79 and 1:13.82. Storesund, Johnk, Abbi Brown and Payton Douglass won the shuttle hurdle in 1:10.47.

The 4×100 (52.65), 4×800 (10:29.37) and distance medley (4:45.65) relays teams all placed first. Bremer, Arganbright, Johnk and Bailey Beckman ran the 4×100, Olivia Steffen, Gwen Steffn, Payton Beckman and Behrends the 4×800 and Knapp, Lindstrom and the Steffen sisters the distance medley.

Payton Beckman, Olivia Steffen, Bremer and Lindstrom were second in the 4×400 in 4:34.69 while Brown, Fett, Douglass and Gwen Steffen ran the Panthers to third in the 4×200 in 1:58.9. Also third was the sprint medley quartet of Arganbright, Brown, Lindstrom and Storesund, who finished in 2:01.48.

Spencer Hunt made the most of his first outdoor meet of the season, winning the 100 (11.61) and 400 (52.77) while crossing second in the 200 (24.04).

The combination of Luke South and Gracen Welberg were 1-2 in the 100 hurdles, in 16.17 and 17.21, with the duo 2-4 in the 400 in 59.3 and 1:01.74.

Levi Richey placed fourth in the 800 (2:15.85) and Avery Norman sixth in the 3200 (13:04.47) with Norman also running the 1600 (5:48.22).

Welberg sailed over the bar at 6’4 for second in the high jump, with Zach Rizzuti sixth in the long jump at 17’8 while Koltin Sloss was second in the discus (127’11) and sixth in the shot put (41’4).

Richey, Rizzuti, Dominic Walker and Kevin Cogil teamed to win the 4×800 in 9:14.37, with Richey, Rizzuti, Cogil and Kade Kemble fourth in the 4×400 at 3:53.65.

The 4×100 foursome of Kyle McClatchey, Jadyn Howard, Dillon Bennett and Logan Hutchins crossed fifth in 52.37, with Hutchins, Howard, Declan McCarthy and Preston Prince fifth in the 4×200 in 1:47.5.

Also fifth was the shuttle hurdle quartet of Prince, Hutchins, McClatchey and Richey, who posted a time of 1:17.64. Howard, Bennett, Kemble and McCarthy ran the distance medley for the hosts, finishing in 4:26.62.

Both Panorama teams will visit Van Meter Thursday before competing at Earlham Tuesday.
