PANORA — A basket with less than five seconds remaining gave the Panorama boys their second final-seconds win of the season Tuesday while the fifth-rated Panther girls waltzed to another comfortable win.

Braylon Dawes grabbed an offensive rebound and put the ball in the basket with 4.2 seconds left to play to give Panorama (3-3, 3-1) a 56-55 win over visiting Interstate-35 (0-5, 0-4) in the WCAC nightcap.

The home team was a 61-19 victor in the opener, lifting the Panthers to 6-0 and 4-0 while the Roadrunners fell to 1-4 and 1-3.

Jared Wasson led Panorama with 20 points, with Dawes adding 16. Braedon Draper had nine points, Maddox Hammerstrom six, Brice Taylor three and Klayton Bremer two.

Draeper and Hammerstrom owned the boards as the pair grabbed 11 rebounds apiece. Taylor provided six assists, with Hammerstrom and Wasson each recording four assists.

The game was tight throughout, with the teams tied at 16 after one frame and the guests leading only 31-29 at the break. I-35 held a 47-44 advantage as the final period began, only to be surpassed in the waning moments.

The Panorama girls were never threated in their game and held a 42-12 lead at the intermission.
