MANNING, Iowa — The Class 2A fifth-ranked Panorama girls collected a pair of easy wins Friday and Satuday, with the Panther boys dropping two competitive contests.

Panorama (3-0, 1-0) was a 70-24 winner Saturday at IKM-Manning after whipping visiting Madrid (0-4, 0-1) 62-17, Friday. The Panther boys fell to the host Wolves, 46-35, Saturday after suffering a 57-54 setback the day before.

Senior standout Payton Beckman entered the top of the Panorama record lists in both career 3-pointers (bow at 148) and in total steals (286).

The Panthers tore off a 34-2 first quarter Saturday to end any drama after just a few minutes.

Beckman had 21 points and Angel Poldberg 13. Laci Rishel had 11 points, Mia Waddle 10, Jaidyn Sellers seven, Tyme Boettcher six and Zoey Hambleton two.

A 20-2 first quarter and a 21-2 second quarter turned Friday’s home game into a lopsided affair.

Beckman had 17 points, seven steals and three assists, with Boettcher recording 12 points, five rebounds, three steals and two blocked shots.

Sellers had 13 points, Poldberg 10, Rishel eight and Waddle two. Rishel had six thefts and Waddle three, with Sellers grabbing seven boards while making five steals.

IKM-Manning led, 26-22, at the half of Saturday’s boys contest. Panorama rallied to lead, 31-30, after three frames, but a 16-4 final eight minutes from the Wolves put the contest out of reach.

Individual statistical information from the game was not made available.

Madrid held a 33-30 edge at the intermission Friday, with the Tigers expanding their advantage to 47-41 with eight minutes to play. Panorama trimmed the gap to three points but could not complete the comeback.

Panorama’s Jared Wasson had a double-double with an impressive 19-point, 19-rebound outing.

Brice Taylor had 14 points and six assists, with Braylon Dawes adding nine points, Klayton Bremer six, Braedon Draper four and Maddox Hammerstrom two.

Panorama is on the road twice this week, visiting Earlham Tuesday and West Central Valley Friday.
