Panther netters fend off visiting Bulldogs

PANORA, IA — Victories in sets three and four broke open a 1-all tie and gave host Panorama a 3-1 over Ogden in WCC competition Tuesday.

The hosts (4-12, 1-5) won the opening game, 26-24, with the guests (6-15, 2-5) claiming a 25-19 win in the second game. The Panthers responded with a 25-15 victory in game three and a 25-22 game four triumph to seize the match.

Cayden Iredale had 20 assists and Tyme Boettcher three in her return to action. Zoey Hambleton and Jazmyn Sellers had two assists apiece and Hallie Arganbright one.

Jaidyn Sellers led the team with 15 kills, with Hambleton adding seven and Boettcher six. Keira Simmons tallied three kills, with Arganbright, Iredale, and Caitlin Sloss one each.

Fifteen digs from Jaidyn Sellers and 13 from Hambleton paced the defense. Jazmyn Sellers finished with 11 digs, with Elizabeth Snyder adding six and Sloss and Iredale five each while Boettcher and Arganbright both had one.

Jaidyn Sellers had one solo and two assisted blocks, Simmons one solo block, and Boettcher a pair of assisted blocks.

Hambleton served 18-of-19 with three aces, with Iredale 13-15-4, Jazmyn Sellers 17-19-2 and Jaidyn Sellers 10-12-4. Boettcher was 10-11-4 behind the line, with Sloss 13-of-14 and Simmons 4-of-4.

The team was a combined 85-of-94 (90 percent) with 17 total aces.
