The city of Perry will begin widening and resurfacing the in-town portion of west Park Street beginning Monday, June 11.

The Park Street pavement widening project is anticipated to begin Monday, June 11. The area affected will be Park Street from W. Third Street westward to city limits.

The contractor will begin by constructing the north portion — phase one — of the Park Street project. Phase one will take about two weeks to complete.

Traffic will be limited to one lane during phase one. Residents in the area will have limited access to their driveways and are asked to use on-street parking during construction.

The south portion — phase two — will follow upon completion of phase one. Phase two will also take about two weeks to complete.

Motorists will be able to use two lanes of the roadway during phase two. Residents in the area will have limited access to their driveways and are again asked to use on-street parking during construction.

The Dallas County Secondary Roads Department has already ground off the curbstone lips on the paved portion of Park Street west of the Perry city limits, and the city of Perry will follow suit in a coordinated plan for widening and resurfacing the roadway beginning Monday, June 11.
