Perry Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Lynsi Pasutti announced Tuesday the cancellation of all Chamber fundraisers until further notice.

The Perry Chamber of Commerce announced Tuesday the postponement of all events and activities until further notice, including Big Boom Bracket Battle, Annual Dinner, April Chamber Coffee, Spring Farmers Market and Ambassador and Merchant meetings.

The Chamber statement said its decision was based on the latest information and updates from state and local officials about the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus) and recommendations by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to cancel or postpone events and gatherings for the next eight weeks.

The health of the Chamber’s members, volunteers and staff as well as the Perry community as a whole is the Chamber’s top priority, according to the statement, and its social responsibility to postpone these events for the time being.

The Annual Dinner will be rescheduled at a later date, the statement said. Chamber members with reservations may request a refund or wait until the rescheduled date has been announced. The Chamber’s Fourth of July Fireworks Drive will also be paused until further notice.
