Perry Community School District Superintendent Clark Wicks has announced that one student at the Perry Middle School and one student at the Perry High School tested positive this week for SARS-CoV-2, the virus causes COVID-19.
In addition, 22 close contacts of the PHS student were placed in quarantine, and three close contacts of the PMS student were quarantined, Wicks said.
All students and families in contact with the students have been notified, he said, and all other students can attend classes as normal.
The SARS-CoV-2 virus has infected 46 students and 19 staff members since classes began Aug. 19 in the PCSD, according to communications from the PCSD. The list of cases follows.
