Perry kindergarten class quarantined after COVID-19 case

Clark Wicks, superintendent of the Perry Community School District, announced Tuesday evening a positive case of COVID-19 in the Perry Elementary School, which began face-to-face instruction Aug. 19.

Wicks sent the following text message:

A kindergarten student tested positive for COVID-19 this afternoon at Perry Elementary School. All classmates’ families have been contacted. All adults who were in contact with the student have been contacted, also. The kindergarten class and teacher will be quarantined for 14 days per Dallas County Public Health. All other students can attend classes as normal tomorrow, August 26. Thank you. Clark Wicks, Superintendent

The Perry Elementary School has a pre-kindergarten through fifth grade enrollment of about 750 students.
