Perry man arrested for allegedly assaulting Perry woman

Christian Thomas Berkley Hein, 28, of Perry was arrested Tuesday on a charge of first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.

A Perry man was arrested early Tuesday after he allegedly repeatedly punched his girlfriend in the head.

Christian Thomas Berkley Hein, 28, of 615 Fifth St., Perry, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.

The incident began about 12:45 a.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of Fifth Street, where officers of the Perry Police Department responded to a report of an assault in progress.

The officers made contact with the victim, who told the officers that Berkley Hein “punched” the victim “multiple times on her head, specifically on the left side
of her forehead, where bruising and bumps were observed,” according to court records.

The officers also observed on the victim “a small scratch and cut on the underside of her left elbow, including scratch marks on the upper left side of her chest and right side of her neck,” according to court records.

Berkley Hein is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond. Dec. 9 in Dallas County District Court.

Berkley Hein was convicted of assault with intent to inflict serious injury in 2012 in Polk County District Court.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
