Perry man arrested for allegedly strangling Perry woman

Thomas Edward Young II, 46, of Perry was arrested Monday on a charge of domestic abuse assault-impeding air/blood flow causing bodily injury.

A Perry man was arrested Monday afternoon after allegedly strangling a Perry woman in the course of a domestic dispute.

Thomas Edward Young II, 46, of 500 Fourth St., Perry, was charged with domestic abuse assault-impeding air/blood flow causing bodily injury.

The incident began about 3:45 p.m. Monday in the 500 block of Fourth Street, where officers of the Perry Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

The victim told the officers that Young allegedly “wrapped his hands around her neck, struck her in the cheek with an open palm, nearly causing her to lose consciousness, and further pulled her hair hard enough to remove hair from her scalp,” according to court records.

Officers observed on the victim “a fresh bruise on” her “left cheek, red marks on” her “neck, consistent with strangulation, and a red mark on” the victim’s “forehead,” according to court records.

Young is held in the Dallas County Jail in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.

Young was convicted of assault with intent to inflict serious injury in 1998 in Dallas County District Court. He was convicted of assault on peace officers and others in 2000 in Boone County District Court. He was convicted of domestic abuse assault in 2005 in Kossuth County District Court. He was convicted of assault 2010 Greene County District Court. He was convicted of first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness in 2018 in Greene County District Court.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Or you guys need to update your records because court records would tell you that after 2010 young was convicted in 2018 for beating his wife now ex-wife after ripping her out of their car in front of their home in Grand Junction in front of their three babies went into another Grand Mall seizure I’m drinking way too Goddamn much and was life-flighted after busting the sheriff’s hand going into the seizure in the booking process was in a coma for 14 days and I tried to work things out 2019 he moved in with Janet Kanealy while her granddaughter Jill Kanealy-Young and three great grandbabies moved back to Perry to try to work things out as a family for only more assaults to happen in front of their children etc etc etc
