A Perry man was arrested Sunday morning after allegedly beating up his ex-girlfriend and attempting to rape her.

Ricardo Hernandez-Hernandez, 32, of Perry was charged with second-degree sexual abuse and domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.

The incident began about 4:45 a.m. Sunday, when officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 800 block of Rawson Street.

According to court records, the victim told officers that Hernandez-Hernandez “showed up at her house and was angry with her.” An argument ensued, and Hernandez-Hernandez allegedly “threw her all over the home, up against a wall, onto a couch and onto her son’s bed.”

While the victim “was on the couch,” Hernandez-Hernandez allegedly “pulled her pants down” and “told her that he was going to rape her and if she did not let him rape her, he would ‘beat the shit out of her,’” according to court records.

After Hernandez-Hernandez allegedly “threatened to rape her multiple times,” the victim was able to flee the home, and the argument continued in the street until a neighbor called police.

According to court records, the officers observed cuts and abrasions on the victim’s right foot and “several bruises on her person,” including her upper-left chest, back-left shoulder and left wrist.

Hernandez-Hernandez is held in the Dallas County Jail without bond in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.
