Perry Middle Schooler tests positive; 18 contacts quarantined

Asbestos abatement is scheduled to begin May 1 in the first phase of the $10 million Perry Middle School renovation project.

A Perry Middle School student tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday, Sept. 24, according to a message from the school district.

Perry Community School District Superintendent Clark Wicks said all students and families in contact with the positive eighth grader have been notified. In accord with guidance from the Dallas County Public Health Department, 14 students and four adults will be quarantined for 14 days.

All other students can attend classes as normal, Wicks said.
