The Perry Police Department issued two Crime Stoppers announcements Tuesday regarding incidents recently occurring in the Perry area. A $300 reward is attached to the first and a $500 reward is attached to the second.

On Jan. 25 a theft was reported from the buildings located on the northwest corner of Second Street and Willis Avenue. The building was under major renovation at the time, and the owner reported that over the weeks before the report, numerous items came up missing from the site. These items included copper piping, numerous decorative glass globes and a large amount of heavy glass shelving. Perry Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $300 for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for this theft or information leading to the recovery of property from this theft. On April 24 two handguns were reported stolen from a vehicle in the parked in the 800 block of Railroad Street. The weapons were reported to have been removed during the daytime hours. The guns were described as a .22 caliber Smith and Wesson and also a 9mm Glock. The Smith and Wesson was recovered a few days later by subjects in the Frog Creek area.
