A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and asked for “an officer to go with him to get some belongings” because he “and his wife are getting a divorce, and he is leaving on a trip.” An officer responded and stood by.

A “caller was screaming, saying her husband has some mental issues,” and the caller “was done dealing with him.” The caller from rural Perry was transferred to the Dallas County Sheriff’s office, which shortly afterward “requested an officer respond with their deputy.” Officers responded.

An officer of the Perry Police Department taught a DARE class at the Perry Elementary School.

A caller said “that someone had gotten into” a residence. An officer responded.

A caller said “someone stole a pack of cigarettes and his prescription” from “his unlocked vehicle.” An officer responded.

A caller said he caught a cat running at large. An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding Facility.

A caller said she and someone “are in the process of breaking up,” and the caller “requested to talk to an officer about some things going on.” An officer responded.

A caller said he saw “a man put a pistol down the back of his pants prior to entering” a local retail store. An officer responded and made contact with the arms bearer, who was found to be “in possession of a valid concealed weapon permit.”

A caller requested a welfare check on her neighbor because the caller “hasn’t seen him for a while.” An officer responded.

A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. with what she said was a counterfeit $5 bill. An officer responded “and took possession of the money.”

A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said she “received a call from someone who said they were with the claims department.” The woman said the caller “wanted her to go to Walmart and purchase gift cards and send the money owed.” An officer responded and confirmed it was a scam.

A woman said her husband “has a knife and scissors” and “that he has stabbed himself.” An officer and a Dallas County Deputy Sheriff responded and found the husband “had a minor self-inflicted stab wound to his right shoulder” that occurred “during an argument with his wife.” The husband received treatment “for the stab wound and a mental health evaluation.”

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
