  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding Facility.
  • A caller reported someone stole her mother’s purse from her mother’s car. An officer responded.
  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department “red tagged” four “vehicles for 48-hour parking.”
  • Tamara Danielle Ramirez, 27, 1602 Evelyn St., Perry, was arrested on a Dallas County warrant for failure to appear-probation violation on an original charge of third-degree burglary.
  • A caller said “he is at the landfill and needs law enforcement assistance.” The caller was transferred to the Greene County Sheriff’s office.
  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department was “flagged down” by someone who said “they picked up a day laborer” is Des Moines who “began talking to himself and became upset” before “walking eastbound down the alley.”
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding Facility.
  • A caller “reported a dog hit by a car.” The caller said “she is on a bicycle and stopped and is keeping cars from hitting it again.” An officer responded and transported the animal, but the dog died en route to the veterinarian. The officer made contact with the dog owner, who “was advised the dog was at the vet clinic.”
  • A caller said two dogs were running at large. An officer responded and learned the dogs “had run back to a cream-colored trailer.”
  • A caller “requested to speak with an officer about a possible theft.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said her daughter “was arrested today,” and the caller was concerned about her daughter’s two dogs. The caller said the daughter “was sentenced to be in jail for seven days,” and “there isn’t anyone to take care of them.” A caller from the former Humane Society of Perry said she would retrieve the dogs.
  • A caller “said she has received death threats” from someone “who is sitting in the parking lot” and “waiting for her to get off work.” An officer responded and made contact with the person in the parking lot, who “agreed to leave.”
  • A caller said his dog was lost. The caller called again and said his dog was found.
  • A caller said “she had been attacked by a dog and wanted to speak with an officer about her rights.” She said her neighbor’s “dogs got loose and jumped on her,” and she “wanted to know what to do next time something like that happened.” An officer responded and “advised she could defend herself” and “if the dogs are loose, to call the police department, and we would address the dogs being at large.”

August 9, 2018

  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department located “an open garage door at the baseball diamond area near the high school.” The officer “secured the door” and notified school authorities.
  • Breane Lynette Philpott, 26, 2902 Iowa St., #27, Perry, was arrested on a charge of driving under suspension.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and “requested to speak to an officer about a city ordinance/regulation question he had.” An officer responded.
  • A 16-year-old male from Perry was issued a citation for third-offense curfew violation.
  • A caller said she “came home and found someone had broken into her residence and ransacked the house.” Officers responded.
  • A caller requested a welfare check on someone who “made a suicidal threat.” Officers responded.
  • A caller said someone “gets drunk and then makes comments to her that make her uncomfortable.” The caller said “yesterday one of her friends told him that she loved him and wanted him, and that is not true.” The caller said “she tries to avoid him as much as possible.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “today” someone “sent her a Facebook message telling her goodbye, that he was going to kill himself.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded but did not find the dog.
  • A caller reported “property found in the trash.” An officer “responded and collected” the item.
  • Mark Allen Lott, 58, 2020 First Ave., Perry, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance-marijuana and forgery.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. with “four kittens she said were found in a trailer full of garbage.” The former Humane Society of Perry was notified but “advised they could not take any more animals as they are closing down.” Another party later retrieved the kittens.
  • A caller reported “a packge that was possibly stolen from his old residence.” An officer responded.
  • A caller requested “a welfare check on his 18-year-old niece.” The caller said “her dad is an alcoholic and possibly may harm her.” Officers responded.
  • A caller said someone “was smoking weed earlier.” An officer was advised.
  • A caller was “hysterically yelling into the phone” and saying “officers needed to get there quick.” An officer responded.
  • A caller “reported there are two males at his restaurant refusing to pay” and “saying they don’t like the food and will not pay.” An officer responded.
  • A 16-year-old male from Perry was arrested on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said “someone egged his vehicle.” An officer responded.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
