  • A caller said she caught a dog running at large. The caller said “she will keep it unless someone doesn’t claim it.”
  • A caller from the Iowa Department of Human Resources reported an allegation of sexual abuse. An officer responded and started an investigation.
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded and found the sister of the dog’s owner trying to catch the dog.
  • A caller reported “a few items missing from his garage.” An officer responded.
  • A caller reported he would conduct a controlled burn. Officers were advised.
  • A caller reported credit card fraud. An officer responded.
  • A caller said his dog was lost. The caller called again and said his dog was found.
  • A caller from Missouri said someone “may be a victim of a crime.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said a dog “hopped into his sister-in-law’s car.” An officer responded, knew the dog and “transported the dog to the owner’s residence.”
  • A caller said someone “contacted the school, attempting to get an address for her daughter, and there is a no-contact order.” An officer responded and determined “the principal did not give out any information.”
  • A caller said a dog might be in distress. An officer responded but did not find the dog.
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. Officers responded, and an officer transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding Facility.
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. Officers responded.
  • A caller reported an abandoned bicycle. An officer responded, took possession of the bicycle and “placed it in the bike shed.”

August 30, 2018

  • A caller reported a gas drive off valued at $46.01. Officers responded.
  • A caller said some people “keep bugging her about the money raised.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said his dog was lost. The caller called again and said his dog was found.
  • A caller said her dog was lost.
  • A caller reported “a bat in the basement.” An officer responded “and removed the bat.”
  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department “found some keys” and “attempted to make contact” with the item’s owner.
  • A caller said “someone dropped a big load of metal or debris on” First Avenue. An officer responded but did not find any material in the roadway.
  • A caller said he received a scam phone call.
  • Joshua Lee Carmichael, 30, 1522 Lucinda St., Perry, was arrested on a charge of driving under suspension.
  • A caller “said to send help.” Officers responded and found “two parties were arguing” about someone “consuming alcohol and chewing tobacco in her camper.” The officers pacified the parties.
  • A caller said “some stuff was stolen” from “where his vehicles are currently located.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “there have been suspicious people hanging around his shop later at night.” Officers were advised.
  • A caller said “a bat” was “hiding behind the air freshner.” An officer responded and “removed the bat from the hallway.”
  • A caller said “two people were dumpster diving next door, and there had been property stolen recently.” An officer responded and made contact with the scavengers, who were “advised to get permission from the owner to go through the dumpsters in the future.”
  • A caller said “his lug nuts were not tight on the left side all of the vehicle.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “there was a loud party going on next door.” Officers responded but did not hear or see a party.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
