  • Daniel Ray Graney, 29, 2680 Summer Meadows Drive, Perry, was arrested on charges of first-offense OWI, excessive speed (111 mph in a 55 mph zone) and violation of a restricted license.
  • A caller “requested to speak with an officer about a potential situation that might happen later.” The caller said “a male from his church will be getting baptised today,” and “the male extended an invitation to family in Des Moines.” The caller said “one family member called him last night drunk about the baptism,” and “now the male is afraid they will show up and be disruptive.” An officer “responded to the church and stood by for part of the service to keep the peace.”
  • A caller said “a solicitor without a permit had gone to her house, wanting to clean her rug.” An officer responded but did not find the door-to-door carpet cleaner.
  • A caller said “her son” was “trying to drive drunk from the residence.” The drunken son “began saying things like, ‘Oh, yeah, I’ve got all kinds of weapons, grenades . . .’ and was insulting his mother.” Officers were advised.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
