July 26, 2017

  • A caller reported a cat running at large. An officer responded and transported “a very friendly black cat with no collar to the pound.”
  • A caller said a vehicle was abandoned on his property. An officer responded and informed the caller about local towing services.
  • A caller reported “three unsupervised children climbing the bridge.” The caller said she “did not want any of them to get hurt.” An officer responded and found the “boys were fishing.”
  • A caller requested an officer of the Perry Police Department check the welfare of someone who missed a medical appointment. An officer responded and made contact with the person, who “advised he was fine.”
  • The Perry Police Chief “served civil papers to the Post Master from the City Attorney.”
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded but did not find the dog. A second caller reported a dog running at large that matched the description of the dog reported by the first caller. An officer again responded but did not find the dog.
  • A caller said “a group of approximately nine teens” was “being loud and disorderly” in the downtown area. An officer responded but did not find the restive youths.
  • A caller reported a dog “tied to a tree,” with “no food, water or shelter.” An officer responded and made contact with the dog owner, who said the dog “had only been outside a short time.” The officer advised the dog owner “not to have her dog outside without water.”
  • A caller informed the Perry Police Department he would be “repossessing a vehicle.”
  • A caller said her cat was lost.
  • A caller said several children, “ages 2 to 15 years, are always riding bikes, skateboards, Hot Wheels, etc., in the street.” The caller “said she was concerned for the children’s safety.” An officer responded and “spoke to two children about playing in the street.”

July 27, 2017

  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department “located some books in the middle of the road.” The “property was logged into evidence.”

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty.
