May 30, 2018

  • A caller said “that about three weeks ago, her friend’s computer was hacked,” and “since then she has received emails, texts and telephone calls requesting iTunes cards for payment.” The caller “said many of her friends’ friends have been sent these emails, and some have lost up to $1,200.” The caller said she “believes they need to be stopped.” An officer responded.
  • A caller asked “to speak with an officer about parking issues.” An officer responded.
  • A caller requested a welfare check on someone who “was supposed to be in for dialysis at noon.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “when she arrived” somewhere, some people “took off, leaving backpack behind.” The caller said someone “looked in the bags” and “found they contained drug paraphernalia.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “her wallet was stolen from her unlocked vehicle sometime overnight.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “she just had an encounter with” a juvenile and “requested to talk to an officer to see if they were familiar with this person.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said a dog was running at large and “chasing a rabbit.” An officer responded but did not find the dog or the rabbit.
  • A caller said “someone’s been knocking on his window about 4 a.m.” An officer responded.

May 31, 2018

  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and asked whether “he could put plates from his old truck on his new truck.” An officer responded and “recommended him not to do so.”
  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department “observed a Rochester Armour Car Co. truck out of Des Moines” commit a “number of traffic violations.” The officer reported the truck “made a U-turn in the middle of the street, slowing traffic,” and “sped on Willis and missed a stop sign on Willis and 141.” The officer “called the company to advise of the violations.”
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said “he is intoxicated and felt he needed to be incarcerated.” An officer responded, the Dallas County EMS was paged and the man was transported to the Dallas County Hospital.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and “requested a trap for animals on her property.” An officer responded and loaned the woman the department’s trap.
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding Facility.
  • Olivia Kane was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way.
  • A caller said he “believes the garage has been broken into.” An officer responded and determined “the break in occurred within the last two weeks.”
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and asked to “speak with an officer about information on how to go about getting treatment.” An officer responded and transported the man “to the Dallas County Hospital for treatment options.”
  • A caller asked to “speak with an officer in regards to someone trying to get into his Facebook account.” An officer responded and advised the caller “to change his passwords.”
  • A caller said “there are kids that play in the street and constantly hit her car with their toys.” An officer responded but found no children playing.
  • A caller reported “people smoking marijuana” in a public place. An officer responded but “found no evidence of marijuana usage.”
  • A caller “requested help from an officer” for someone “possibly being under the influence.” An officer responded and made contact with the subject of the call, who said he “was upset and didn’t want to be home anymore.” The subject of the call “agreed to go to his cousin’s residence for the night.”

June 1, 2018

  • A caller said “there was a baby bunny in a nest near her garage.” An officer responded and “advised her the best thing to do would be to leave the bunny alone.”

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
