Perry Police Report June 20

June 18, 2018

  • A caller said “someone has thrown some type of liquid, possibly meat fat, on his car.” Thecaller “said it smalls really bad.” An officer responded and determined “someone threw animal intestines on” the caller’s vehicle. The officers “advised him to wash it off.”
  • A caller “reported a raccoon.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said his vehicle was “stolen sometime since last night.” An officer responded and found the vehicle, which was estimated to be “worth $175.”
  •  A caller said her dog was lost. Another caller reported a dog running at large. The “descriptions matched,” and the dog owner “responded to pick up her dog.”
  • Hector Luis Espinoza, 20, 2189 B Ave., Perry, was arrested on a Dallas County warrant for probation violation on original charges of eluding and first-offense OWI.
  • A caller reported “a dog that has been outside” more than “three hours” and appears “dehydrated and not doing well with the heat.” An officer responded and found the “dog appeared to be okay. It was under shade.”
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department and asked whether an officer would “stand by” while “he waters his dogs.” The man “said he is no longer with his wife and doesn’t want problems.” An officer “responded and stood by. No problems.”
  • Glenn Troy Graspy, 32, 1909 E. 22nd St., Des Moines, was arrested on a charge of driving under suspension.
  • A caller reported a raccoon “that was panting and did not look well.” An officer responded, but the raccoon “wasn’t able to be caught.”
  • A caller said her husband “locked her out of the house, and she has her child with her.” An officer responded and assisted the caller to regain entry to the residence. The officer “provided her some crisis information to assist with possible marital issues.”
  • A caller said his dog was lost. The caller called again and said his dog was found.
  • The Dallas County Sheriff’s office called and “requested an officer to assist a deputy who needed help at the hospital.” An officer responded.
  • A caller “reported that dogs were left outside during the storm and no shelter.” An officer responded.
  • Alexander Osmin Aristondo Lopez, 27, 2801 First Ave., Perry, was arrested on a charge of first-offense domestic abuse assault causing injury.
  • A caller reported “a tree that is completely down and blocking the street.” The Perry Public Works Department was notified.
  • A caller from Jamaica said a Facebook buy-and-sell page included “a bunch of items that were posted that are stolen.” An officer responded and started an investigation.
  • A caller said he lost his billfold.

June 19

  • A caller reported “a raccoon in the yard.” The caller “said people were trying to catch and release it the night before.” An officer responded.
  • A caller from the Dallas County Hospital “requested help with a committal.” The caller said a “patient was refusing to let them draw blood.” Officers responded.
  • A caller said he wanted to make the department aware he received a scam phone call.
  • A caller said “a neighborhood stray had kittens.” The Humane Society of Perry was notified and responded.
  • A caller said “there was a fight occurring at this time.” Officers responded.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department and said “his grandson had saved a young fawn, and they were wondering if they could save it.” An officer responded and made contact with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, which “advised to return it to its original location and hope the mom would return to find it.”
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded but did not find the dog.
  • A caller said “he believes his mother just kicked him out.” An officer responded.

June 20, 2018

  • A caller from the Des Moines Police Department said the department arrested Arturo Aguilar, 47, on Perry Police Department and Adel Police Department warrants. The caller “requested is they could arrange for Dallas County to have him picked up.” The Dallas County Sheriff’s office was notified.
  • A caller from the Des Moines Police Department said a stolen vehicle was recovered, and the registered owner lives in Perry. An officer responded and informed the vehicle owner.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
