June 22, 2018

  • A caller said a dog was running at large “and making her dog bark.” An officer responded, but the “dog left, running east into the timber.”
  • A caller reported a suspected scam phone call from Houston, Texas. An officer responded.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. in order “to report a dog bite.” An officer responded.
  • A caller “wanted to talk to an officer concerning the process for committing a friend who has a problem with alcohol.” An officer responded and “spoke with her about options.”
  • A caller said “her neighbor drugged her cat.” The caller “said that she didn’t know the neighbor had drugs until after her cat was drugged.” An officer responded and found the “cat appeared perfectly fine.” The officer “advised her if she was concerned to take the cat to the vet.”
  • A caller said “she has received five calls today advising they are with Social Security and threatening to stop benefits.” An officer responded and confirmed the calls as scam phone calls.
  • A caller reported someone “outside of the store, panhandling his customers.” The caller “requested officers respond and have him stop.” Officers responded, and the panhandler stopped.
  • A caller said “a bike was left at her parents’ residence.” An officer responded.
  • A caller reported receiving a scam phone call. An officer responded.
  • A caller reported “someone shooting off fireworks near the park in Dawson.” The Dallas County Sheriff’s office was notifed.
  • A caller from the Dallas County Sheriff’s office “requested an officer for backup at the Red Carpet Inn for a deputy.” An officer “responded and assisted without incident.”

June 23, 2018

  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department was “flagged down by” someone who said “there is a white truck that keeps circling around the tents with fireworks.”
  • Miguel Rico-Cisneros, 50, 1519 Warford St., Perry, was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under suspension.
  • A caller said “she could hear someone crying near her residence.” The caller said “she lives near the Violet Hill Cemetery and wanted to make sure he was okay.” An officer responded and made contact with someone who “was grieving a grandparent that passed away.” The officer gave the sad person “a ride home and dropped him off with his aunt.”

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
