June 1, 2018

  • A caller said a dog was running at large. Officers responded and “were able to secure the dog back inside.”
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. in order to discuss “parking issues.” An officer responded.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. in order to “get a note notorized.” A dispatcher responded and notorized the note.
  • A caller “reported a squirrel laying in the alley, unknown if injured.” An officer responded, “picked up the squirrel, took it north of town and released” it.
  • A caller said her “uncle is making threats to her,” including “telling her he will damage her vehicle and bite her glasses of her face.” An officer responded and spoke to the caller and her uncle, who “agreed to gather his things and leave.”
  • A caller said “she got a call indicating her grandson had been in an accident and hit a pole.” The caller said she was directed “to get a $900 gift card from Kum and Go to get her grandson out of jail.” The caller said she called her daughter, who in turn called the caller’s “grandson, and he is at work and is fine.” An officer responded and explained the incident was “just another scam attempt.”
  • A caller said “her landlord’s son broke into her house.” An officer responded and learned the caller’s landlord “had gone into her apartment and took a pink tote with a wire and a red coat.”
  • A local retail store reported “a gas drive off of $39.16.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said he “had questions regarding his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend being able to take custody of his kids.” An officer responded and spoke with the caller about “child custody issues.”
  • A caller said “his stove was not working.” An officer responded and advised the caller to contact the landlord.
  • A caller said her vehicle “had been hit” while she shopped. An officer responded.
  • Anthony James Johnson Parnell, 20, 1306 11th St., Perry, was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • A caller reported having “found a wallet.” An officer responded, and the item was “logged into evidence as found property.”

June 2, 2018

  • A caller said “a tree had fallen, and the power went out.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said he “saw a flag with the word ‘Open’ on it” along “the south side of the road on Willis.” The caller said he “picked it up” and “didn’t want anyone thinking he stole it.” The caller said “he will bring it to the police department when he comes back to town.” An officer was advised. The caller later “brought in the flag.”
  • A caller reported mechanical trouble in an automated car wash. The owner of the car wash was advised of the problem.
  • A “12-year-old girl called for her mom” and asked whether “it is okay for her to stay home alone.” The child caller said “her mother, who only speaks Spanish, wanted to know if she,” the child caller, “can stay on her own.” An officer responded and explained “that it all depends on the maturity of the kid. If the parent feels they will be okay on their own, there is no age limit.” The officer also advised the caller to use “the landline for non-emergent calls.”
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. in order “to speak with an officer about property she owns in town.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said he “had an argument with a coworker who was supposed to let him borrow a paint machine and would receive payment Monday.” An officer responded and assisted in resolving the dispute.
  • A caller said “a domestic had occurred, possibly physical.” An officer responded and determined the dispute was verbal only.
  • A caller said she lost her purse.
  • A caller reported an erratic driver. There were “no officers avaiable at the time.”
  • A caller said her dog was lost. The caller called again and said her dog was found.
  • An officer of the Perry Police Department “removed road debris from” the roadway.

June 3, 2018

  • A caller said “he was intoxicated and needed to be incarcerated.” The caller said “he was homeless and was in someone’s garage.” Officers responded and determined the caller was in a garage belonging to his sister, “who said she would take him in for the night.”
  • A caller said her cat was lost.
  • A caller reported “two people fighting in front of his residence.” Officers responded, pacified the fighters and determined that “neither party wanted to press charges.”
  • A “caller reported an accident in Rippey by the old school.” The caller was transferred to the Greene County Sheriff’s office.
  • A caller requested a welfare check on someone because “no one has been able to get ahold of him for a while.” An officer responded.
  • A caller asked “to speak to an officer in regards to a duplex she owns in town.” An officer responded.
  • A caller “requested a welfare check on dogs” for “not having food or water.” An officer responded and found two dogs that “appeared to be healthy” and supplied with food, water and an air-conditioned shed.
  • A caller said he “just witnessed illegal dumping.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “they had locked themselves out of their apartment.” An officer responded.
  • A 16-year-old male was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, interference with official acts and first-offense curfew violation.

June 4, 2018

  • A caller said “his 13-year-old daughter was home alone, and someone was trying to break into their residence.” The caller said “he was not at home at this time, and his daughter was very scared.” An officer responded and made contact with the child, who said “she thought she heard someone trying to open her front entry door.” The officer “investigated the scene and patrolled the area,” finding nothing. The officer learned “her mother was returning home in a few minutes.”

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
