March 1, 2017

  • A caller said her dog was lost. She later called again and said her dog was found.
  • A caller said he and his wife returned home “to find that their home had been broken into. She had jewelry stolen from her drawer and” the caller “had his new hearing aids stolen.” An officer responded.
  • Gloria Conrad, 1719 Fifth St. in Perry, was issued a citation for failure to obey a yield sign.
  • Anthony Noe Rivas-Ruiz, 21, 702 Fourth St., Perry, was arrested on a Dallas County warrant on charges of probation violation, interference with official acts and possession of a controlled substance.
  • A caller said he was concerned about “problems with kids trespassing on vacant lots.” He “said he tried talking to the kids,” but “they just started swearing at him.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded, caught the animal and transported it to the Perry Animal Holding facility. The Humane Society of Perry was notified.
  • A Law Enforcement Assistance broadcast said a white van was traveling on Iowa Highway 141, with “someone holding up a sign in the back window that says, ‘Help me.'” An officer of the Perry Police Department located and stopped the van and found it “was a youth group, and someone thought it would be funny to hold up the sign.”
  • A caller said people were “speeding, revving engines and playing loud music in his neighborhood.” An officer responded.

March 2, 2017

  • Jessica Lynn Ruggles, 24, 1711 Fifth St., Perry, was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating without a license and operating without insurance.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
