May 9, 2018

  • A caller said she saw “the one who she believes broke into her home last time.” The caller said “he is currently near her home.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said a vehicle “almost hit him he was going so fast.” The caller said he “was not letting the vehicle leave.” The caller said he spoke to a “high school student, and he advised he was going to be late so that is why he was going so fast.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “she cannot find her 3-year-old daughter.” Officers responded and “located the 3-year-old in a room upstairs under a bed. All okay.”
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and reported  “people living under the trestle bridge that crosses the river on the bike trail.” The Dallas County Sheriff’s office was notified.
  • A caller said “he’s observed a couple of guys going through the dumpster, throwing trash on the ground.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “she received a call from someone” and “thought it was a scam,” so she “did not give any money but did give her date of birth.” An officer responded and confirmed “that it was a scam.”
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding Facility.
  • A caller said “there was a fire” but “then advised that they had it under control and hung up.” An officer responded and confirmed “everything was okay.”
  • A caller said she “just saw someone stealing mulch from” a local retail store. An officer responded and made contact with the alleged thief, who allowed the officer “to look into the bed of the truck. No mulch was found.” The officer made contact with the caller.

May 10, 2018

  • A 911 caller said “he thought that he was calling 411.” An officer responded.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
