May 4, 2018

  • A caller said her dog was lost. An officer responded but did not find the dog. The caller later called again and said “the dog was at her old house. All okay.”
  • A caller “reported someone had left what appears to be stolen property at the end of his driveway.” An officer responded, and “the items were returned to the owner who lived across the street.”
  • A caller said “he was given a three-day notice,” and “now the landlord is there asking him to move out.” An officer responded, made contact with the caller and “informed him of the eviction process.”
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. “to report an older man riding a scooter on Iowa Highway 141 in the westbound lane going east.” An officer responded but did not find the wrong-way driver.
  • A caller said “there was water spurting around Fourth and Park streets.” An officer responded and found “all okay.”
  • A caller asked for a welfare check be done on a dog because the caller “believes it was being malnourished.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded.
  • A caller who said “he was 10” also said “there was a car in his driveway that he did not know who it belonged to,” and “he was worried his parents were not home yet because they usually are around this time.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “he got in an argument with his friend,” who “bumped into him really hard” and “spit on him.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “her girlfriend is drunk,” and the caller “wants her out of her residence.” Officers responded.

May 7, 2018

  • A caller said “he was missing a basket, cooler and clipboard that he had left at the boat ramp about half an hour ago.”
  • A caller said “there was an elderly male driving on Iowa Highway 141, going against traffic on his red scooter.” An officer responded but did not find the wrong-way driver.
  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department “was flagged down by a group of adults regarding a boy in the area acting suspicious.” The officer responded and made contact with the boy, who said “he had been sick today and didn’t go to school.” The officer made contact with the boy’s mother, who confirmed the boy “didn’t go to school due to the flu.”
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded and found the dog and the dog’s owner, who said “the dog slipped out with company at their residence.”
  • A caller said someone “he recently evicted” was “banging on his door at this time.” Officers responded.
  • A caller said “her sister just called her and told her that she could hear a lady yelling and crying.” The caller said “she is unsure where it is coming from.”

May 8, 2018

  • Scott Robert Hensen, 43, was arrested on a charge of driving under suspension.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
