  • A caller said she saw “a hurt dog on Iowa Highway 141” but “was unable to get it in the car with her.” An officer responded and forund the dog “had run south into a field.”
  • Someone entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and “wanted to make us aware they had repossessed a vehicle from Tyson’s.”
  • “Three calls from the Dallas County Hospital” indicated someone “escaped.” An officer responded, located the escappe and “transported her back.”
  • A caller reported “a theft of some of his property.” An officer responded.
  • Deborah Elaine Mathis, 52, was issued a citation for unsafe backing.
  • A caller asked for a welfare check on someone who “never showed up” for a medical appointment. An officer responded and made contact with the person “through the window, who reported he was fine.” The caller was made aware.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and reported the theft of vehicles from “his body shop in Johnston.” An officer responded and “advised him to report the issue to the Johnston Police Department.”
  • A “caller reported getting a call from the IRS, stating she was going to be arrested and that they were going to seize her property.” The caller was “made aware it was a scam” and “advised to block the number.”
  • A 911 caller said she “and her brother were in a fight.” Officers responded. The brother said “his sister was not expecting him to be home early and was confused and scared.” The officers advised the brother “to stay in his room for a while until she calms down.”
  • A “caller said there was an old man that had tried to flag her down for a ride.” The “caller said she did not pick him up but wanted to make officers aware of the situation.” Officers were “on a priority call” and “unable to respond.” The department :did not receive further calls” about the old man on the road.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said his step-daughter was “being harassed by another boy.” An officer responded and made contact with the boy’s father, “who said he would take care of the issue.”
  • Melissa Ann Cruit, 37, 1816 Jones St., Perry, was arrested on a charge of third-degree burglary.
  • A caller “wanted to speak with an officer about a no-contact order.” An officer responded.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said “her ex-boyfriend” was “testing her and showing up at her residence unwelcomed.” The woman “also stated she wanted him trespassed from her storage unit, her mother’s residence and her residence she rents.” An officer responded and explained that “the property owners of those places would need to request the trespass.” The officer “was able to locate” the ex-boyfriend and “advise her to stop having contact with her.”
  • A caller said “he was in Granger and had been in an accident” with “no injuries.” The caller was “transferred to the Dallas County Sheriff’s office.
  • A caller said “she found a small child wandering around outside her house” who “appears to be about 2 or less.” Officers responded, the “child was returned to the appropriate location and the Iowa Department of Human Services was notified.”
  • A caller said he was “just in a physical altercation” with “his mom’s ex-boyfriend.” Officers responded, “spoke to both parties and were not able to determine a primary aggressor.” The Dallas County Attorney’s office “was contacted, and the decision was made for an incident report to be completed and will be reviewed for possible charges.”
  • A caller reported an erratic driver on Iowa Highway 141, but the “officers were busy on another call.” The Dallas County Sheriff’s office was notified.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
