  • More than five 911 calls were received from a number. Dispatchers “could hear the radio playing and someone singing along.” Dispatchers repeatedly called the number back but “no one would answer.” Messages were left. About one hour later, someone called said “he had his phone in his front pocket and must have dialed 911.” The caller said “he got several calls and voicemails from Jefferson as well.”
  • A caller said a neighbor “had items burning in a barrel.” An officer responded, and the neighbor “said he would put it out.”
  • A caller said a motorist was “acting suspicious.” An officer responded but did not locate the vehicle.
  • A caller reported “a motorized scooter going eastbound on the westbound lane on Iowa Highway 141 just off the bike trails.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “he saw a mountain lion last night on W. Third Street.” An officer responded.
  • A caller reported “a suspicious male with a backpack and a cap.” Officers were advised.
  • A caller said two dogs were running at large. Officers responded but could not catch the dogs.
  • A caller said her husband went to a neighboring residence “to give them the vet bill from when their dog got loose and attacked” the caller’s dog. The caller said “no one answered the door, so her husband left the bill in the door.” The caller “said the neighbor then came to her residence extremely angry and accused them of harassing her grandchildren.” An officer responded and made contact with both the caller and the neighbor, “advised them both not to go on one another’s property and to leave each other alone.” The officer advised the caller “to go through civil court for the vet bill.”

  • A caller said someone “is trying to break into her apartment” and “was also destroying the inside of the apartment.” Officers responded, and “all seemed okay.”
  • A caller said “that someone was in her detached garage” and that “she could see someone with a flashlight in the garage.” The caller said “she turned on the yard light which also turns on a light in the garage, and then the subject in the garage turned the lights off.” The caller said “that they went back and forth with the light a couple of times.” The caller said “the light was now still on,” but “she didn;t know if someone was still out there or not.” Officers responded.
  • A caller said “her husband was out of control” and “that he had shoved her and is being aggressive towards her.” The caller said the husband “is not intoxicated and does not have any weapons in his possession,” but “there is a handgun and a shotgun upstairs.” The caller said “their 2-year-old son was also in the residence in the living room with her husband.” Officers responded and investigated, determining that the husband “placed his hands on” the caller “and assisted her out of the bathroom, but he did not shove her, and there were not any marks or bruises left on” the caller. The officers determined, in consultation with the caller and the Dallas County Attorney’s office, that “there does not need to be an arrest.”The caller and the husband were advised “that they need to get something worked out so this does not happen again.”
