September 30, 2016

  • An patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department saw a dog running at large and “tried to get near enough to catch it.” A passerby identified the owner of the dog.
  • A caller said she found a dead dog alongside Iowa Highway 141 in Perry. An officer responded and notified the pet owner.
  • A caller said “she was trying to get a car wash, and there was a malfunction on the machine.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said someone “drank a half-bottle of mouthwash” and was “threatening suicide.” Officers responded, and the Dallas County EMS was paged.
  • Jordan Erickson of 825 Park St. was issued a citation for illegal parking.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said he found a billfold. An officer responded.
  • A caller asked “to speak with an officer regarding being harassed by another coworker.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “her daughter’s car” was “egged the night before.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “her friend’s daughter had run away.” An officer responded and found the 12-year-old child “was back home.”
  • Sayury Rubio-Lugo of 331 Pattee St. was issued a first-offense citation for nuisance burning.
  • A caller “reported pounding on her air conditioning unit outside” and “said it was not normal.” An officer responded and found the caller heard “the halftime fireworks from the football game.”
  • A caller said she “was outside her house, leaning against her truck, when a male friend came over, and they started having a conversation.” The caller said then her “husband pulls up and started yelling at her to stop talking to the male friend. She said her husband then accuses her of having sexual relations with her male friend,” and “it leads to the husband kicking her out of the house.” An officer responded.
  • A caller from the security staff of the Dallas County Hospital asked whether officers of the Perry Police Department could help with “three adults who did not want to leave the hospital waiting room and lobby until they could see a specific patient.” The caller said “the adults were not wanting to leave despite his telling them that visiting hours were over.” Officers responded and advised the adults “to leave and call the emergency room in two or three hours to check on the patient.” The adults “agreed and departed the property.”

October 1, 2016

  • A caller said “alarms are going off” in a local retail store. An officer responded.
  • Daniel Joseph Jebson, 43, 1934 24th St., Des Moines, was arrested on a charge of third-offense public intoxication, drug-related.
  • A caller reported someone was open burning nearby. An officer responded.
  • A caller asked whether an officer of the Perry Police Department “could swing by his mother’s residence.” He said his mother “wanted to file a restraining order against his sister.” An officer responded and “explained the process.”
  • A caller said “he could hear an argument,” and “it sounded like it was just starting to get physical between his neighbors.” The caller asked that officers come “quickly.” Officers responded and found “a verbal dispute” occurred between the neighbors, but “nothing physical had taken place,” and “everything was fine now.”
  • A caller said “there was a vehicle in his driveway,” and he “was not sure who it belongs to.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “a little gray kitten had followed her home from” the market. She said she took it to a local veterinarian. An officer responded.
  • A 911 caller from Boone “said he was being harassed by some other kids at the Boone High School.” An officer responded and alerted the Boone County Sheriff’s office.
  • A 911 caller reported “an accident on U.S. Highway 30 by the racetrack.” An officer responded and alerted the Boone County Sheriff’s office.

October 2, 2016

  • A caller from a local long-term care facility said “one of the other employees saw someone lurking around outside.” An officer responded.
  • A 17-year-old male from Scranton was arrested on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. The caller said the dog was “vicious” and “tried to bite her.” Officers responded but did not find the animal.
  • A caller said “he just noticed his windmill missing.” He said “the blades and tail were painted red.” Officers responded.
  • A 16-year-old male from Perry was arrested on a charge of simple assault.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. with “something she found laying the the street.” An officer responded, and the undisclosed item was “logged into evidence.”
  • A caller reported “a man and a woman arguing in the yard.” Officers responded, and “the “dispute was found to be verbal dispute.” The disputants “separated for the night.”

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
