September 22, 2018

  • A caller reported an abandonded bicycle. An officer responded and “took the bike to the shed.”
  • A caller said she lost her phone a month ago. An officer responded.
  • A caller said “her roommates are going at it again.” Officers responded.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and asked “about obtaining a restraining order. No officers were available to assist, so she was told to come back later.”
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer reponded but did not find the dog.
  • A caller said her friend’s bike was stolen. The caller was advised to have her friend call with information.
  • A caller requested a welfare check on someone whom the caller “has not been able to make contact with.” An officer responded and made contact with the person, who said “he was fine” and “had been taking a nap.”
  • A caller said “a boy just came to her door” and “said a truck just his a tree. A girl jumped out of the vehicle and took off running.” An officer responded.
  • A caller reported “a squirrel that was stuck in a net over by the dog park.” The caller said he “attempted to get it unstuck but was unsuccessful. No officers were available to respond.”
  • Kevin Kyle Kestel, 46, 1913 Fifth St., Perry, was arrested on a charge of domestic abuse assault.
  • A caller said “one of her grandson’s dogs had been stolen while he was out walking them.” An officer responded and learned “the dog was located.”

September 23, 2018

  • A caller from a local business said “three patrons stole a large stuffed animal from her shelf the night prior. Two of the three were in the” business when the caller called. An officer responded and made contact with the “patrons,” who “claimed that it was a prank and they would return the item to the” business. The caller “was advised of the disposition.”

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
