September 28, 2018

  • A caller said his brother “went to the hospital last night” and “was released” but “never returned home.” An officer responded and located the brother.
  • Nicole Le Tonche-Rios, 35, of 1801 W. Fourth St., Perry, was issued a citation for first-offense vicious dog.
  • A bus driver with the Perry Community School District called and said someone “threw a phone charge on top of the bus stop shelter.” The caller “requested an officer respond and assist in getting it off the shelter.” An officer “responded and assisted.”
  • A caller said “he found drug paraphernalia at a rental property he owns.” An officer responded and “took possession of the paraphernalia,” which was “logged into evidence.”
  • A caller reported “his homemade trailer missing from his yard this morning when he went to work.” The caller called again and said “he found the trailer.”
  • A caller said a vehicle was stolen “in Slater last night” and “requested an officer patrol” in Perry in order to “locate the truck.” An officer responded but “was unable to locate a vehicle matching the description.”
  • A caller reported a suspicious person “walking around the area of her residence.” An officer responded but “was unable to locate anyone matching the description.”
  • A caller said she was having “problems with her teenage son.” An officer responded.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Departmebt at 908 Willis Ave. and said “he is being harassed.” An officer responded.

September 29, 2018

  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department encountered a man sleeping “in front of a door” in the downtown area. The officer “had the male move along and was told not to sleep in the downtown area.” The officer later found the same “in another entryway of a business.” The man said “he wanted to go west,” and the officer “transported him to Dawson.”
  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department encountered a man sleeping in the 1200 block of Second Street in the downtown area. The man said “he wanted toward Ames,” and the officer transported the man to the interchange of U.S. Highway 169 and Iowa Highway 141 “and advised him how to get to Ames.”
  • A caller from the Dallas County Hospital said “they have someone there for a 48-hour hold, and she is threatening the staff to result in violence and not being cooperative.” Officers responded.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
