A Perry woman was arrested Thursday on a Dallas County warrant in connection with an alleged assault in August in which she struck her husband in the head with a jar.

Daisy Denette Easterlie Templeman, 39, of 1627 1/2 Willis Ave., Perry, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.

According to court records, the incident began about 3:30 a.m. Aug. 9, when an officer of the Perry Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 1600 block of Willis Avenue in Perry.

In the course of a verbal argument, Easterlie Templeman allegedly began “hitting the victim” and “throwing stuff at the victim,” according to court records.

The victim “said he then saw what looked like a jar” in Easterlie Templeman’s hand, and “he was then hit on the back of the head and saw stars.”

The officer observed the victim to have “bruising on his upper arm” and “blood in his hair” and “a small cut on the back of his head where he said he was struck,” according to court records.

Easterlie Templeman is held in the Dallas County Jail in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.
