The PHS Pulse Dance Team will stage its 12th annual Spring Showcase Friday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. in the Perry High School gymnasium. Admission is $5.
The Spring Showcase is the team’s one annual fundraiser. Pulse dancers will perform all of their routines from the year, including their award-winning state hoopla routine, “We Are Perry,” along with a coed routine, a new lyrical routine, dance clinic routines and a glow stick finale.
A bake sale during intermission and a glow stick sale afterward will also help raise funds toward next year’s team expenses. The show will also feature several options for audience participation.
The Pulse Dance Team has been selected by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union to perform at the halftime of the Iowa Girls State Basketball Tournament game at 8:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25 in Des Moines.
“This is the first time the dance team has been invited to perform, and it is a huge honor,” said Perry Pulse Dance Team Coach Faye Southward. “Only 20 or so routines were selected from the over 500 total routines at the ISDTA state championships held last Nov. 30.
