Panorama's Dalton Bennett (61) and a teammate throw a NW Webster runner for a one-yard loss during their Oct. 7 contest.

LAST MEETING — Panorama scored a 48-20 win in Stuart in 2013, when the current senior class were freshmen.

ABOUT THE PANTHERS — Despite losses in District 6 play to No. 3 Madrid and No. 5 Van Meter (who meet in Madrid for the district crown Friday), the Panthers are still in contention for one of two at-large playoff spots, but they will need help from others. Panorama must defeat WCV by 17 or more points, then hope three of the five teams ahead of them in the at-large standings lose, and even then it may come down to bonus points. Postseason pairings will be announced late Friday evening.

Luke South has thrown for 957 yards and 10 touchdowns.  He is 64-of-129 and has been intercepted seven times.

Garrett Simmons has caught 15 passes for 342 yards and three TDs, with Blaine Barber’s 10 snags for 144 yards and two scores also atop the team reception list.

Brody Rickheim (92-572, 9 TDs), South (70-210, 3 TDs) and Barber (29-143, 1 TD) lead the ground game.

Gunnar Grunsted (45.5), Trey Cobb (38), Jeramy Randol (31.5) and Daniel Jensen (25.5) have played well defensively, with Jensen recording 10 sacks and Randol four. The team has made 14 interceptions and recovered 10 fumbles.

ABOUT THE WILDCATS — WCV has rushed for just 656 yards — 51st among 58 Class 1A teams. They do, however, have the distinction of being the only team to have scored against Van Meter, albeit in a 69-6 loss. They opened the season with a 19-12 win over AC/GC and have a 35-8 win over Ogden as well. South Hamilton defeated WCV, 48-18, last Friday.

Jeff Salazar (78-280), Cody Hansen (43-156, 3 TDs) and Knick Badker (22-136, 1 TD) are the leading ground gainers.

Badker is 66-181-13 for 1,049 yards and nine TDs, with Hansen 10-23-2 for 151 yards and 2 TDs throwing.

Brock Wolfe (16-470, 7 TDs), Cole Arnburg (21-307, 3 TDs) and William Larsen (19-230, 1 TD) lead the receiving corps.

The defense has six interceptions and eight fumble recoveries.
