Rain, high winds forecast for Perry area Saturday

W-G will host DMC Monday at 7 p.m. in the Class 2A District 12 Final. The game was washed out Saturday, though the busting of the recent heat wave is doubtless considered by most as a fair exchange.

The National Weather Service (NWS) office in Des Moines forecasts rain and strong winds of 30-35 mph Saturday, with gusts to 40 to 45 mph expected.

A hard freeze and even frost is possible Sunday morning, the NWS said, and a few non-severe thunderstorms are possible Sunday night into Monday.
