Residential garbage collection will resume Thursday, according to a statement released Tuesday afternoon by the Perry City Hall.
“Thank you for your patience, Perry neighbors!” the city hall statement said. “We were able to pick up a replacement garbage truck today!”
The residential garbage collection will resume with the The regular Thursday and Friday routes for residential collection will be followed. Residents on the Monday and Tuesday routes may take their refuse this week to the recycling dumpsters at the McCreary Community Building, PHS football field parking lot and Perry Police Department parking lot, with regular collection resuming next week.
Residents are reminded to use the dumpsters only for regular household garbage. Do not dump furniture, appliances or other large items in the dumpsters.
The replacement garbage truck was secured after the city’s residential arm truck was damaged Aug. 10 after storm winds drove it into the ditch.
