Almost one year to the day after the Perry Volunteer Fire Department saved from total destruction the house at 1324 Willis Ave., reconstruction is well underway on the 103-year-old structure.
Workers could be seen Monday raising high the roof beamss and joining the old timbers to new wood as they framed the joists and rafters of the second story.
Fire broke out about 1:30 a.m. March 14, 2018, in an upper room of the 3,500-square-foot house, owned by Michael and Hildie Stokely of Perry. There were no injuries in the blaze.
