The Rippey Lions Club made a donation Wednesday to the Rippey Public Library of $500, the proceeds from the Lions’ annual breakfast fundraiser held last Saturday at the Rippey United Methodist Church.
Rippey Public Library Director Shawneene Kenan accepted the funds from Rippey Lions Club President Nancy Hanaman in the 3 p.m. ceremony at the library. Also celebrating the moment were Rippey Public Library Board President and Lions Club Treasurer Dale Hanaman, Rippey Public Library Board members Jean Borgeson and Nancy Burrow and the Rev. Paul Burrow.
Kenan thanked the Rippey Lions for their generous donation, which she said would mostly be used to enlarge the library’s collection of books. Kenan, in her second year as library director, serves the community and the library’s 700 card holders with a wide variety of programs.
