Travis John Jansen, 49, of West Des Moines was arrested Wednesday on a charge of assault while displaying a dangerous weapon.

A West Des Moines man was arrested on a Dallas County warrant Wednesday in connection with an April 13 incident in which he allegedly brandished a firearm during an apparent road-rage episode involving a Waukee man.

Travis John Jansen, 49, of 1366 90th St., West Des Moines, was charged with assault while displaying a dangerous weapon.

The incident occurred about 10:45 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of S.E. Boone Drive and S.E. University Avenue in Waukee, where Jansen allegedly “began tailgating the victim” and making dangerous vehicular maneuvers before he “held a firearm up in the rear view mirror still in the holster,” according to court records.

A warrant for Jansen’s arrest was ordered April 16 in Dallas County District Court and served April 17. Jansen is held in the Dallas County on a $2,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for arraignment May 9 in Dallas County District Court.
