Robert ‘Bob’ Dean Warner of Perry

Robert “Bob” Dean Warner, 89, of Perry passed away Friday, Feb. 1, 2019, at his home in Perry, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 9 at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Perry. Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 8 from 5-7 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home and Cremation Care in Perry. Burial will be at the North Lawn Cemetery in Fort Dodge at a later date. Bob Warner was born Sept. 16, 1929, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Lester Harm and Amanda Geneva (Hanson) Warner.

He attended Fort Dodge High School, graduating with the class of 1947.

He was united in marriage to Barbara Joan Sturdevant in Fort Dodge Dec. 30, 1951.

Bob worked at Fareway for 37 years, beginning in Fort Dodge and then in Oelwein and Cherokee, and in 1972 he moved to Perry. In 1956 Bob was the youngest meat manager at the age of 27.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Men in Perry.

He enjoyed playing pool with his friends at the Rowley Masonic Community and playing Bridge.

In death he rejoins his parents, Lester and Amanda.

Left to cherish Bob’s memory are his wife, Barbara; children, Bob Warner Jr. and Don (Cathy) Warner, both of Mesa, Ariz., Rick (Janet) Warner of Littleton, Colo., and Beth Renshaw of Waukee; grandchildren, Nathan (Sharla) Warner of Gilbert, Ariz., Geneva, Ally and Candice Warner of Mesa, Ariz., and Kalen Renshaw of Waukee; and great-grandchildren, Olivia and Avery Warner.

  1. I didn’t know Bob very well, but I enjoyed his friendly smille when be passed my meat order over the counter in the Perry Fareway store. He was such a nice man and was missed by a great many of Fareway’s clientele. God bless you. Rest In Peace.
