Runaway bonfire controlled by Perry Volunteer Fire Department

A bonfire got out of hand Friday night west of Perry, and firefighters responded and coltrolled the blaze.

A burning rubbish pile in the 15500 block of 141st Street got away from its owner Friday night and threatened to set alight the nearby timber until the Perry Volunteer Fire Department responded and controlled the blaze.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

The firefighters responded about 10:30 p.m. to the residence on the north side of Iowa Highway 141.

The Dallas County Sheriff’s office also responded.
