Adel-De Soto-Minburn Community School District Superintendent Greg Dufoe said Friday that another DeSoto Intermediate School staff member tested positive for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.

Dufoe said the Dallas County Public Health Department identified four close contacts of the infected staff member, and the four persons will be contacted by the state or local health agency and placed in a 14-day quarantine.

Earlier in the week, one DeSoto Intermediate School staff member and one Adel Elementary School student tested positive for the virus, Dufoe said. A total of five close contacts were identified and quarantined by the Dallas County Public Health Department.

The ADM Community School District had about 1,900 students enrolled in 2019, with about 500 in the high school. The district’s Return to Learn Plan calls for 100% attendance and features many virus-mitigation tactics, such as context-appropriate face coverings for students in grades three through 12.
