The National Weather Service office in Johnston has issued a severe thunderstorm watch until 8 a.m. Monday for the Perry area.
Scattered damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph are possible along with large hail up to 1.5 inches in diameter.
Along with Dallas County, the severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for Adair, Audubon, Boone, Calhoun, Carroll, Cass, Crawford, Greene, Guthrie, Harrison Madison, Monona, Pottawattamie, Sac, Shelby and Webster counties.
