ANKENY, Iowa — Green Bay, Wisconsin-based Shopko Optical hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony last week at its new store at 110 N. Ankeny Blvd., which opened in November.
The new center provides patients with comprehensive eye care services, including eye exams, contact lens fitting and detection and management of eye disease, according to Shopko Optical CEO Russ Steinhorst.
“We are excited to expand our comprehensive eye care services to Ankeny,” Steinhorst said. “With our new location, we can better meet the needs of the community and continue to provide the well-known patient-centric care that Shopko Optical is known for.”
Steinhorst said that Shopko Optical’s Kids in Focus program will work with Ankeny’s local Lions Club to identify eligible children within the area to receive a comprehensive eye exam and pair of glasses at no charge from Shopko Optical. Those looking to participate can contact their local Lions Club.
Monday’s ribbon cutting was co-hosted by Shopko Optical and the Ankeny Chamber of Commerce.
