Spellman elected to Iowa Association of Justice board

Mark Spellman of Waukee, a partner in the Spellman Law Firm of Perry, was elected Nov. 8 to the Iowa Association of Justice (IAJ) Judicial Subdistrict 5A Board of Governors at the association’s annual convention in Des Moines.

The IAJ is a statewide association representing trial attorneys. Local IAJ members were elected to the boards of governors from the 14 judicial districts and subdistricts in Iowa in balloting during the run-up to the convention.

Spellman graduated with Honors from Drake University Law School in 1994 and earned a Masters of Law degree in health law at DePaul University College of Law in Chicago in 1995.

Spellman is active in numerous charitable and community activities, including raising funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). He is currently a board member for the Iowa Team in Training program for LLS.

Spellman and his wife, Ann Spellman, live in Waukee with their two sons. In his free time, Spellman enjoys hunting, traveling, cycling and spending time with his family.

At its annual convention, the IAJ collected more than $4,300 worth of winter coats, hats, gloves and boots and cash donations to help Iowa kids this winter.
