A quantity of animal fat was spilled Thursday night on Iowa Highway 141 in Perry, mixing with the rain and making for treacherous driving for local motorists.
No injuries were reported.
The spill occurred in the 1200 block of 141st Street about 7:15 p.m., leading the Perry Police Department to temporarily close the eastbound lanes of the state highway while the Perry Volunteer Fire Department removed the slick fat.
“That was slicker than you know what,” said a local motorist after navigating the oleaginous intersection.
The source of the presumed pig fat is unknown at this hour.
